14 image effects and retro post-processing

ASCII, dithering and VHS effects online

Turn a photo into ASCII art, a wall of glyphs, 8-bit console dithering or a cobalt blue halftone, a mosaic of squares, a CMYK print halftone, a risograph print or a VHS tape. Fourteen adjustable effects and fourteen presets, three color modes (mono, original colors or palette) and retro post-processing: grain, scanlines, glow, chromatic aberration, phosphor and CRT screen curvature.

How it works

  1. Upload an image and pick a preset (Terminal, Retro CRT, Cobalt halftone, Riso, Pixel art…).
  2. Switch effects and adjust their settings, the colors and the post-processing.
  3. Export as PNG, SVG (8 vector effects), MP4 video, or .txt text for ASCII.

What you can do

  • 14 effects: ASCII, dithering, mosaic, halftone, risograph, VHS…
  • 14 presets, including Cobalt halftone, Glyph memory and Mosaic
  • Riso: 1 to 4 overlapping, offset and screened inks

FAQ

What is dithering?

Dithering simulates shades with a limited number of colors by placing dots side by side, like on old screens or in print.

Can I get the ASCII art as text?

Yes: with the ASCII effect, click “Download text (.txt)”.

Can the effects be animated?

VHS is always animated; for the others, turn on “Animate” to make the grain and the effect move, then export as MP4.
