Press the space bar to generate a new palette, lock the colors you like and keep going until you find the right combination. Twelve harmonies (analogous, complementary, triadic…), shades, a name for every color, a contrast checker, color blindness simulation and an ASE export that imports straight into Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Download the .ASE file, then in Illustrator open the Swatches panel › Open Swatch Library › Other Library. The same file works in Photoshop and InDesign.
Click the column’s padlock (or press L): it stays in place on the next generations.
Click “Share link”: the color codes are included in the address, just send it.
Choose the “Wheel” layout: each color becomes a point on the hue wheel. Drag a point to change its hue (the angle) and saturation (the distance from the center); with “Linked colors”, the whole harmony turns together. In video, “Hue rotation” spins the palette around the wheel.
Your palette is remembered in your browser. In the Pattern, Background, Geometry, Grain, Thread, Shapes, Plates and Gradient tools, the “My palette” block applies it in one click: the lightest color becomes the background, the darkest the ink, the most vivid the accent. Your saved palettes are there too.
