Fragments, grids and offset inks

Pattern generator from text or an image

Type a word or upload a photo: the generator slices it into a grid (square, round, diamond, hexagonal, brick, rows, columns, radial or fan) and offsets each fragment. The offset follows the field of your choice: the center, a point you place with the mouse, organic noise, a wave or the very texture of the text or image. Print it all in two or three overlapping inks, like a risograph, for posters, covers, visual identities or animated visuals.

How it works

  1. Type some text or upload an image, then pick a preset (Riso, Kaleidoscope, Hive, Three-color…).
  2. Change the grid and the offset field, adjust the amplitude, rotation, inks and misregistration.
  3. Export as a high-resolution PNG, a vector SVG or an animated MP4 video.

What you can do

  • 9 grids: square, hexagonal, brick, radial, fan…
  • 5 offset fields: center, point, noise, wave, light
  • 1 to 3 overlapping risograph-style inks
  • All 1,950 Google Fonts, or your own font
  • Looping animation and PNG, SVG, MP4 export

FAQ

Can I use my own font?

Yes: upload a TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 file from the Font section, or drop it straight onto the preview. It is also embedded in SVG exports.

Is the SVG really vector?

Yes. In text mode, the letters stay editable text in Illustrator (the font must be installed on your computer).

How do I get a risograph effect?

In the Inks section, switch to 2 or 3 inks and pick a color pair. Misregistration shifts each ink slightly, and the offset spread breaks each one up a little differently, like a print made in several passes.

How do I make a video for Instagram?

Set up the Animation section (movement, ripple or field evolution), choose the 4:5 or 9:16 format in the export panel, then click “Export video”.
